Acer Palmatum Chisio

Acer Palmatum Group: Japonicum

Part of the Corallinum family, with bright red leaves when mature. A beautiful Japanese maple whose leaves emerge bright red in the spring, before fading to pink and then bluish-green with red edges for the summer.  The fun’s not over though – the luminous red re-appears for the autumn display; site in at least half a day of sun for the best colouring.  It has relatively small leaves and thin branching which give the tree a dainty appearance.

Great potted and ideal for a bonsai specimen; can reach 2.5 to 3 metres in the ground.  Previously known as Shishio.
