Beni Kawa

Acer Palmatum - Beni Kawa

The winter shoots of this acer palmatum are spectacular with their deep salmon-red colour. It is similar but slightly slower growing than a Sango Kaku. This cultivar becomes an upright shrub or small tree.
Though a plant for winter colour and for use as a focal point in the landscape, its foliage turns a golden yellow in autumn, made even more stunning by the contrasting red shoots in the background.
