An upright, but spreading round-headed small tree, it will grow rather fast as a young plant. The young emerging leaves are a light green with whitish pink-tinged variegation, the colours gradually darkening to a dark grey-green with bright pink variegation in patches of varying sizes. The leaf margins have very conspicuous uneven toothing. It is one of the few variegates which thrives in full sun. Grows to 2.5 mtrs
