The small, five to seven narrowly lobed leaves are divided almost to the base, each lobe with a sharply pointed tip and conspicuously toothed margins. The centre lobe sometimes differs in having a shortened, rounded tip. The new young leaves are bright pinky red, becoming darker, purplish red in the summer, and often bronzed green later. Autumn colour is bright scarlet. The short slender leaf stalks are bright red. This cultivar forms a dense, upright shrub. Grows to 1.5 mtrs.
