Acer Palmatum - Villa Tarranto
First cultivated in Italy this maple has leaves that emerge an orange-crimson, soon becoming green with a light reddish overtone. All leaves are green when grown in shade and remain a clear red if in full sun. In the autumn the leaves turn a pleasing yellow to gold.The lobes are long and narrow and rarely more than 5mm wide. the centre lobes are longest and create a lacy effect. The leaf stalks are stiff and short. This hardy cultivar forms a dome shaped plant of 3 mtr (10ft) in height.
